HPA Statement Regarding Georgia Flag Decision

We at HPA are very disappointed with the decision that the Georgia Legislature has made with regard to a state flag referendum. The people's voice will not be heard in this sham that will take place in March of 2004.

However, the people's voice will be heard in the elections of 2004 and it will be one of anger and resentment. Just as Roy Barnes passed into the political graveyard of Georgia, those who voted to deny Georgians their voice in the flag referendum will join him.

This referendum will do nothing to "heal" the state. It will only divide it further.

HPA supports the ousting of any politician, regardless of party affiliation, who voted to remove the 1956 Georgia flag from the referendum. To this end we are dedicated.
